Understand Our Body Deeply

Have you ever wondered how food is processed after it enters the body? Have you thought about why some people gain weight even when they don’t eat much, while others seem to eat a lot and never put on weight? Have you considered whether modern sitting toilets or traditional squatting toilets are better for the health? Did you know that your emotions are closely related to your small intestine, and that your brain is intimately connected with your large intestine?

In fact, all of these ideas are discussed in detail within the foundational theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I would like to recommend a book by the German author Giulia Enders, Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body’s Most Underrated Organ. Many of the concepts presented in this book can be seen as modern scientific interpretations of traditional TCM theories.

For those studying TCM, reading this book can deepen your understanding of its foundational principles. For readers without a background in TCM, it serves as an excellent popular science book that helps you better understand your body and the impact of modern science and technology on human health.
